SEN Teacher
Job description
Start: September | Support Learners with SEN Through Tailored, One-to-One Teaching
Do you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you confident teaching Maths, English, or Science across Key Stages 1 to 4, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual learning needs?
TP Tutors is seeking dedicated tutors to deliver 1:1 tuition to pupils with SEN who may be out of school, in alternative provision, or on reduced timetables. Your role will be to re-engage these learners through patient, structured support and personalised teaching.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 tutoring in Maths, English, or Science for SEN learners (KS1–KS4)
- Deliver sessions in safe, agreed environments (e.g. homes, libraries, community centres)
- Differentiate content and pace to match each pupil’s individual education plan (IEP)
- Use strategies for supporting a wide range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more
- Build trust and promote a positive learning experience through encouragement and consistency
- Help pupils regain routine, confidence, and academic progress through small, achievable goals
We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either in mainstream, special schools, or alternative settings
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science (up to GCSE level)
- Ability to adapt teaching style to meet diverse learning needs
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Good understanding of how SEN can affect learning, behaviour, and communication
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can support)
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and working with vulnerable learners
- A passion for inclusive education and student-centred learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
