Job description

1:1 SEMH & Wellbeing Support Tutor – September Start

Do you have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you passionate about helping them re-engage through compassionate, trauma-informed support?

TP Tutors is looking for dedicated tutors to provide 1:1 wellbeing-focused academic support across KS1–KS4. Many learners are out of school or in alternative provision and need a calm, consistent adult to help them rebuild confidence and routine.


Your Role:

  • Deliver 1:1 Maths or English with a focus on emotional safety and trust

  • Support learners in safe, local spaces (e.g., homes, libraries)

  • Use positive relationships, behaviour strategies, and small wins to build momentum

  • Promote mental wellbeing and self-belief through every session


We’re Looking For:

  • SEMH, PRU, youth work, or alternative provision experience

  • Calm, empathetic approach and strong behaviour support skills

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
