Teaching Personnel’s West Midlands Primary branch is currently recruiting experienced SEN Teachers for full-time positions based in B6 (Birmingham) mainstream primary schools. These roles are due to start in September 2025.

About the role:

As a full-time SEN teacher in a mainstream primary setting, you will:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to support pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring their progress within the mainstream curriculum.

  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet diverse learning requirements and help each child reach their potential.

  • Manage your classroom effectively, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Collaborate closely with mainstream teachers, support staff, and parents to provide the best support for your pupils.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining detailed records and adjusting plans as needed.

  • Uphold safeguarding policies and maintain a professional and supportive presence within the school community.

Who we're looking for:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in SEN within mainstream primary schools.

  • Preferably with previous SEN school-based experience to confidently support children with complex needs.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills—this role involves creating your own lesson plans and adapting resources.

  • Excellent behaviour management techniques and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Flexibility and resilience to work in a busy primary environment, supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration within a school team.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree with QTS, PGCE or SCITT.

  • Proven experience working with SEN pupils in mainstream primary schools, preferably with SEN school-based experience.

  • Strong references demonstrating effective teaching and behaviour management.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
