Teaching Personnel’s West Midlands Primary branch is currently recruiting an experienced Reception (EYFS) teacher for a full time long term role starting September 2025. We are working closely with a school based in Alcester, providing them with reliable, passionate EYFS specialists for long term cover roles.
As a Reception supply teacher, you’ll be stepping into established Early Years settings to ensure continuity of care, learning, and development for children aged 4–5. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a nurturing, structured environment during staff absences—sometimes at short notice.
Key Responsibilities:

Delivering Pre-Planned EYFS Lessons
-
Planning aligned to the Early Years Framework.

Facilitate play-based learning and structured group activities.
-
Tailor delivery to meet children’s developmental stages and individual needs.

Creating a Positive Learning Environment
-
Establish routines quickly to support a calm, consistent classroom.
-
Encourage social interaction, language development, and independence.
-
Apply school behaviour policies in an age-appropriate, nurturing manner.

Adaptability and Early Years Understanding
-
Confidently transition into different EYFS classrooms.
-
Use your knowledge of the Early Learning Goals and Development Matters to guide provision and expectations.

Child Support and Safeguarding
-
Observe, assess, and interact with children to support their progress.

Ensure a safe, engaging environment at all times.

Be vigilant with safeguarding and wellbeing protocols.

Communication and Feedback
-
Leave comprehensive handover notes for SLT and parentd where required.

Collaborate with EYFS teams and support staff.

To be considered, you must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) via PGCE, Degree with QTS, or SCITT

Relevant EYFS teaching experience and strong classroom behaviour management

Availability to work flexibly across Early Years settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
