SEN TA's required across Lancashire

Teaching Personnel work with numerous schools across Lancashire who cater for children with SEN including PMLD, SEMH, SLD, ASC, SLCN, HI, VI and varying others.

Due to a busy start to the new academic year, Teaching Personnel are seeking a number of Teaching Assistants in various locations who are willing to work on a supply basis whilst we seek you permanent work. A number of our schools often call upon Teaching Personnel to assist with their own recruitment therefore working on a supply basis has the opportunity to lead to a long term / permanent position.

Skills required

Candidates need:

• the ability to build good relationships with children, teachers and parents
• the ability to cope with challenging behaviour
• a willingness / experience in supporting children with PMLD, SLD, ASC and more
• a professional attitude to work
• a strong regard for pupil safety and well-being
• a positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport;
• respect for diversity as you will be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds;
• excellent team working ability as you'll be working with other support staff, classroom teachers and other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and social workers, parents, careers and external agencies;
• good organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly

Other desirable skills

• fluency in local community languages may be an advantage in roles supporting English as an additional language (EAL) pupils, although this is not essential
