SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a Mainstream Primary school in North Liverpool, who are actively recruiting for a full time 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant; to work with a student in Year 3 with autistic needs. The school is located in the Bootle area of Liverpool (L20), and the role is set to start from February 2020 until February 2021 covering a maternity. The pupil is working at a lower level, and requires help with their subject learning and behaviour management throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviour, and experience holding interventions and de escalating difficult situations.

The role:

  • Start date, February 2020
  • Primary School – Year 3
  • Full time, long term
  • Monday – Fridays
  • Hours approximately, 8:30am – 3:15pm
  • Bootle, Liverpool Area
  • Salary GBP9.50 - GBP10.50 per Hour

Key responsibilities and requirements for this teaching assistant role will include:

  • Supporting a particular student with autism on a 1:1 basis, in order to support their learning.
  • Taking direction from class teachers, SLT and senior support staff and completing task to a high level.
  • Have patience and a caring and understanding nature.
  • Experience de escalating situations of behavioural issues.
  • Be able to use own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed;
  • Be able to work full time from February 2020 until at least February 2021.
  • Be able to commute to the Aigburth area
