Are you a caring individual looking for an exciting career in education?

Teaching Personnel Liverpool are currently supporting the recruitment needs of Specialist Schools located in Merseyside and The Wirral. In September 2020 they are looking for numerous Support Staff to join the team. They are expecting a high number of new referrals of different age groups and Special Needs.

You will be supporting SEN Pupils within either Primary or Secondary age groups in a specialist autism provision in Merseyside & The Wirral. This is a full time position with the opportunity to be a permanent.

This role is for September 2020 with the possibility of an earlier start if schools open sooner.

Successful candidates will ideally have experience working with Special Educational Needs in a professional capacity. The school are looking for those with transferable skills which can come the following backgrounds:

  • Youth Work/Support Work
  • Psychology qualification
  • Care work
  • Teaching Assistant in Mainstream or Special Needs
  • Nursery work
  • Nanny/ Au Pair
  • Residential Support Work
  • Outreach Work
  • Support Worker  

You will need to be:

  • Fun and creative, happy to get involved in messy play and creative subjects
  • An excellent communicator
  • Someone who can think outside of the box
  • Have a resilient personality
  • Experienced working with SEN children
  • Strong with behaviour management
  • Willing to take on additional training courses - Team Teach, Safeguarding, Moving and Manual Handling 

Responsibilities of the role involve:

  • Supporting Primary or Secondary aged pupils who have a range of special educational needs
  • Supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis where necessary
  • Working alongside other staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
