SEN support assistant – Salford

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a client primary school in the Swinton, Salford (M27) area, looking for a teaching assistant to support a child in Year 1 with Autism on a 1:1 basis. This is a full time role and due to complex needs of the child, the successful candidate must have previous experience working with children with special educational needs.

The child needs support with class work but has been struggling with his emotional needs and has found the transition to Year 1 very challenging. Because of this, the Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant who has previously worked with children with behavioural needs to support the pupil in and out of the class room.

This role will involve:

• Supporting the pupils emotional needs
• Helping the pupil communicate and socialise with other pupils
• Developing the pupils fine motor skills through 1:1 interventions

This Swinton based primary school is larger than average and is an inclusive and happy school which focuses on ensuring all their pupils are happy, safe and reach their individual potential.
