SEN Support Assistant

A two form entry primary school in Dukinfield are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with children with Autism (ASC) in their year 1 class. The Tameside school have made changes to their leadership team and have clear visions and high expectations for the future of the school, with a strong and supportive staff team who are working together to take the school in a positive direction.

A good level of understanding of Phonics would be ideal as you will be delivering interventions with a small group of children. Good behaviour management skills and ideally some restraint training will be needed as he is a lovely, yet very strong-minded little boy who can sometimes become aggressive. You will be working alongside the class teacher who is very knowledgeable and supportive.

This is a full-time position starting in September until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to be taken on as a permanent member of staff. The school are looking for a nurturing Teaching Assistant with a passion for working with children with Autism.
