Teaching personnel are currently looking for a EAL teaching assistant - hands on experience required!

On behalf of a school based in Southall, Teaching personnel are currently recruiting for a EAL teaching assistant to work one to one with individual pupils and small groups of pupils who require additional support. This is a full time role looking for a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant, with a drive to encourage pupils.

The role:

This role with revolve around supporting the learning of pupils with English as an additional language, each pupils ability is different so must be used to adapting to each child's needs/ability. The importance of building strong relationships with their pupils is crucial, being able to understanding and push them to achieve. This full time role will involve working one to one with pupils that need focused support, this includes conducting group activities and support - adapting work to their ability.

Although this role is dedicated to the learning of numerous EAL students it may involved some general class TA support. Being a school that focuses on the importance of inclusion and equality there can be a vast range in abilities and needs, therefore general classroom support is required on occasion.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience with EAL students, in both a one to one and group environment
  • Experience with adapting classroom activities and work to their ability
  • At least one years classroom experience, working alongside a teacher to support their pupils learning

Especially in regards to SEN and EAL pupils the parents involvement is crucial, keeping them posted on the changes on their education plans and requirements.

The school are looking for a teaching assistant to contribute to the positive working environment, producing significant improvements with every pupil they support.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experienced working one to one with EAL pupils
  • Valid DBS
  • At least one year experience working within a class supporting the pupils learning
