SEN Secondary Cover Teacher
Key Stage 4/5
Required in Louth, Monday - Friday
Long term assignment starting after February half term, could lead to a permanent position but this is dependent on performance
Competitive day rate via PAYE

Your new company

This local schools provides a fantastic service within Lincolnshire, helping youngsters to achieve their full potential. The school positively supports a wide range of learning difficulties. Some students have, in additon, other conditions which impact on their learning. These may include communication difficulties, autism, complex health issues, sensory processing difficulties, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairment. The learning environments are deisgned to be a low arousal and much of the teaching is supported visually to enhance the process of information. The school has a hydrotherapy pool, a purpose built food technology room and large outside play areas.

Your new role
The School is an innovative setting and they are looking for an inspirational teacher who is able to impact upon their students to achieve the highest possible standards in work and conduct. Pupils are often placed here part-time and on short term placements though some of their KS4 students remain with them to complete their education. The role requires working across curricular subjects to deliver a core English, Maths, Science and PSHE curriculum and life skills. Pupil groupings are smaller than in a mainstream setting (4 - 12) and all will have additional emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
