Looking for a Teaching Assistant Position?

Have experience of working with SEN children?

Able to work near Beckenham?

I am recruiting on behalf of an outstanding SEN primary school near Beckenham. They are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join them on a full time basis from the beginning of June 2018. This long term position will be based generally in key stage 2, supporting the learning of children with non-verbal autism within the classroom. There are 8 students in the class, and you will be expected to provide 1:1 support for each of the students throughout the day.

This is a large SEN school for children with PMLD and autism, which has most recently been graded as 'outstanding' by Ofsted. Records show that pupils make good progress over time, teachers create a positive atmosphere for learning and there is an excellent relationship between staff and students. Trials will be taking place for the position at this school over the next two weeks. If you would like to be considered for trial, it would be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience of working with children, ideally those with SEN
  • Knowledge of PECs or Makaton
  • A DBS on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap
  • Excellent references from two previous employers
  • Full time availability
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and ICT skills

Once registered with us, Teaching Personnel can offer you access to CPD courses that are either free or at a reduced cost. We can also offer a referral bonus of £50 if you recommend another teaching assistant, who then successfully registers and works for us.

Send your CV to start the registration process with Teaching Personnel or to find out more about this position.
