Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs to thrive? Teaching Personnel are looking for a compassionate and reliable SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide outreach support to students across Plymouth. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working 1:1, is confident travelling between sites and wants to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.

About the role:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN, often outside of mainstream school settings.
  • Build positive relationships and act as a role model to encourage engagement in learning.
  • Support with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and learning development.
  • Liaise with schools, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of support.
  • Flexible timetable with a focus on student-centred learning.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
  • Must hold business insurance for travel to and from outreach locations.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (professional or personal).
  • Ability to work independently and adapt support to individual needs.
  • Strong communication and empathy skills.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Plymouth and surrounding areas
Salary: £90–£95 per day (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
