Ad-Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant – Plymouth
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Flexible, Monday–Friday (as and when required)
Contract: Ad-hoc / Supply
Location: Plymouth and surrounding areas
Requirements: Must hold a full driving licence and have business car insurance

About the Role
We are looking for reliable, adaptable, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our ad-hoc support team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy flexible working and are confident stepping into different school settings at short notice. You will support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, helping them engage in their learning and daily school activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN.

  • Assist teachers in implementing learning plans and behaviour support strategies.

  • Adapt quickly to new environments and routines across different schools.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere where pupils feel safe and supported.

  • Travel to a range of settings when required (driving and business insurance essential).

About You

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential.

  • Able to work confidently in new environments with minimal guidance.

  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping children succeed.

  • Must be able to drive and have business car insurance for school travel.

  • Reliable, flexible, and available to work on an ad-hoc basis from January 2026.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
