SEN - Learning Support Assistant - New Romney

Are you a Learning Support or Teaching Assistant looking for more opportunities to expand your experience, or get more hours during the term time?

As a trusted recruiter for Educational Establishments for many years, Teaching Personnel are now recruiting for Teaching Assistants, SEN and Specialists to work in classroom settings with SEN students aged from 5 - 19 years old.

As these roles involve working with students with a range of learning difficulties or disabilities, ideally we'll be looking for candidates who are passionate and knowledgeable about what the job entails and are also able to adapt to support needs.

Duties

• Preparing learning materials under the supervision of the teacher.
• Working inside or outside the classroom (1-2-1 or group sessions).
• Adapting support according to needs.
• Looking after students physical, social and emotional welfare.
• Creating information and help to teachers.
• Keeping records and attending review meetings.

Key Skills

• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Literacy and Numeracy Skills.
• The ability to deal with/manage difficult behaviour or adapt to child's needs.
• Creative and Practical Skills for activities.
• Candidate must have a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one.
• Have previous experience working with SEN students or have previous experience working as a youth worker
