Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Birmingham, UK

Salary: £77-£85 per day PAYE

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you thrive in a challenging yet rewarding environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a specialist school as a SEN Learning Support Assistant in Birmingham.

Role Overview: As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, and Non-Verbal communication. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure that each student receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Help students to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs if required.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism, SEMH, Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, and Non-Verbal communication.
  • Resilient and able to handle challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Friendly, caring, and hard-working with a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Must have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
