- -Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis to work on a 1:2 basis with two pupils, new to school that have funding support for their learning needs and behaviour.
The Head teacher in school has commented that ‘the girls needs a routine and structure- the successful candidate will need to have experience with supporting Down Syndrome & associated behavioural needs- we use a range of strategies in the EYFS class to ensure the child is catered for and can meet all learning objectives.
The school received GOOD from Ofsted back in 2013 during a full inspection- With the behaviour of the children and teaching assistants being mentioned as the driving force behind the high standards of attainment in school. The school is located within an ‘deprived’ part of Lancashire, 5 minutes from the M65. The majority of children do arrive at school working below expected levels. The school is around 95% EAL with the majority of pupils coming from Urdu & Punjabi backgrounds.
The role is to start from September and will continue, five days a week until at least April 2018, with it possibly continuing in the new academic year. In the past, the school have used the agency to shortlist, appoint and then contract on a temp to perm basis.
