September 2026 – Join Teaching Personnel as SEN Classroom Support Assistant!

Location: Bridgend
Pay Rate: £92.63 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year 


The Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient, compassionate SEN Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming and well-supported Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. You will support pupils aged 3–19 with Autism and a range of additional learning needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

This inclusive and highly supportive school caters for pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school is thoughtfully organised into Primary, Secondary, Post-16, and a dedicated Autism and Complex Needs Centre.

The school offers an inspiring, well-equipped learning environment with excellent facilities and small class sizes. Each class benefits from strong staffing ratios, typically consisting of a teacher supported by a skilled team of support assistants.

⭐Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people with SEN/ALN and challenging behaviours
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Help pupils access the curriculum through personalised interventions
  • Use effective behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies
  • Promote engagement, confidence, and emotional development
  • Assist with mobility, sensory, and physical support needs

✅Educator Requirements

  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN, or transferable experience from care, youth support, or similar roles
  • Must be 18+
  • EWC registration (or willingness to obtain — we can help!)
  • Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • At least two professional references covering 24 months
