Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Supply Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist primary setting designed for learners with additional learning needs (ALN).
About the School (Specialist ALN Setting)
You will be working in a well-established specialist provision supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Speech, language, and communication needs
- Social, emotional, and behavioural challenges

About the Role (Supply Work Explained)
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work on a flexible basis with opportunities for regular, ongoing placements
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupil needs
- Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and emotional regulation
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Full-time availability is strongly preferred, as consistency is key to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
✅ What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (desirable)
- Health and Social Care Qualification (essential)
Experience:
- Experience working with children or young people (essential)
- Experience supporting individuals with ALN, ASC, or SEMH needs (highly desirable)
- Backgrounds in care, support work, early years, or youth work are welcomed
Other Requirements:
- Driving licence & access to a vehicle (advantageous, not essential)
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
