Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Secondary school in Salford who is hoping to recruit a new SEN Classroom Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

Due to an unexpected increase in students with SEN, our partner school is looking for an extra Classroom Assistant to make sure all pupils have the correct support and guidance they require within a variety of subjects.

The successful candidate must have previous experience supporting young people who have SEN or have transferrable skills to work within this area of education.

  • Full-time role working as a SEN Classroom Assistant for an immediate start until the end of the academic year.
  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Earn up to £300 per week, depending on experience and responsibilities given.
  • Working with pupils in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis who have SEN.
  • Opportunity to work in a 'Good' Ofsted rated Secondary school.

As a SEN Classroom Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside children who require additional support due to their Special Educational Needs or learning difficulties.
  • Working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support within subjects such as English, Maths or Science.
  • Supporting the class teacher alongside monitoring pupils' progress.
  • Helping to plan and deliver intervention sessions to raise pupil attainment.
  • Promoting positive behaviour management.

With over 1000 pupils in total, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee students with SEN are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

Our client school is based in Salford and can be accessed via the M60 and A580 from areas such as Bolton and Bury. For non-drivers, the school can be accessed via several forms of public transport from the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.

For immediate consideration please submit a CV to Megan Knight. For further information, please contact the Manchester West Secondary Office on 0161 242 1799.
