Our Specialist SEN Branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a SEN school in Bridgend. Given the little continuity to learning and routine this year, the school are only looking for candidates who are able to provide a calm, empathetic influence to a child’s life. The pupils within this school have a wide range of additional learning needs including complex needs, autism & medical needs. Historically the school has been impressed by those coming from a primary, psychology, sports or mental health background, or who have worked with children from nursery to age 11. However, the school are happy to consider people from all walks of life.
What do you need to know about the role?
- An exciting role across a fantastic SEN school in the Bridgend.
- Focus on working with pupils with special needs and challenging behaviour
- 8:20- 15:00 – Monday - Friday
- Start date ASAP
- Full time role for the remainder of the academic year into next year
- Permanent contract to be discussed following a successful probationary period
- £60-70 per day
- All backgrounds and personalities are encouraged to apply
You will be working in a small class size of eight pupils who have complex needs, however, you will be specifically assigned to one of the new pupils based on your experiences and personality fit. The two new pupils do not have complex additional needs, so no specific special needs experience is necessary.
A typical day will consist of assisting the class teacher while they take the class as a whole, but you will then be divided into pairs or individuals to complete activities/ assist with accessing the curriculum and on times personal care. You will also have the opportunity to work with other professionals that include therapists, school nurses and social workers. As you can tell, every day is a different day!
For more information please get in touch with our Branch Manager Bethan on 02921 151979 or alternatively click on the apply button below. We look forward to hearing from you!
