SEMH Teaching Assistant

Together with a local education provider, we are seeking keen and motivated individuals, who are willing to get ‘stuck in’ from the get-go. If you are looking to begin or continue your career within the education sector, this could be the opportunity for you!

The pupils you will work with all have either SEMH and/or autism, which means you will need to manage very challenging and disruptive behaviours on a regular basis. Class sizes are much smaller than a mainstream school and ratios of support staff to pupils are high – due to the needs and requirements outlined on each pupil’s EHCP. No two days will be the same at work; one day you could be working 1:1 and the next in a class of 5-8 pupils with different needs and abilities.

Teaching Personnel can offer you a wide range of CPD courses in SEN, to support you in your career. Courses include Teaching Assistant Diplomas, Child Psychology and Understanding Autism.
