SEMH Teaching Assistant

I am seeking a Teaching Assistant from January to support students with SEMH.

The school caters for pupils aged 9-16 with Social, Emotional, Mental Health, Behavioural Difficulties, ASC and ADHD.

The working day will be from 9am - 2:45pm and 9am - 1pm on Fridays. On Wednesdays the pupils participate in outreach activities including outdoor ed, horse riding, life skills and various others.

The Head Teacher is interested in candidates who have worked in a PRU / Alternative Provision, worked alongside Young Offenders, Sports Coaches, those who have worked with NEETs, those with an Army background, those who have worked in prisons and MORE! (Please note: You don't have to have direct experience in a school, but you MUST have the skill set and knowledge to handle challenging behaviour appropriately and the understanding of pupils who have mental health difficulties.)

The pupils require nurture, care and guidance from an appropriate mentor / support assistant. You must be 'thick-skinned,' energetic, empathetic and non-judgemental with a can-do attitude.

The school would like to meet candidates who have an interest, a passion, the determination, drive and personality to support their pupils.

You MUST have experience supporting pupils of a challenging nature and be willing to work in the school on a supply basis initially.
