SEMH Teaching Assistant

KS3- SEMH- Secondary- Rochdale

  • - Are you a qualified teacher with extensive experience of working with pupils who have SEMH needs?
  • - Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a specialist setting?
  • - Do you want the opportunity to enhance your professional development and access specialist training?

Part time position for SEMH teacher beginning in September 2017. The position is for an experienced SEMH teacher and is initially a temporary position for the first term September- October 2017; however the opportunity for permanent could be available for the right candidate.

The setting is a special needs school and currently has 253 pupils on roll. The pupils who attend the school are aged 11-19 and have a wide range of needs including: multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, social and emotional needs and mental health needs. To apply for this position you must be an experienced teacher with qualified teacher status.

Due to the specific needs of the pupils the ideal teacher will have experience working within a specialist setting and be able to demonstrate a passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs. Ideally the teacher will have experience working closely with pupils who have SEMH needs; however this is not essential as long as they can show a genuine enthusiasm for supporting pupils with SEMH.

The ideal teacher would have:

- Qualified Teacher Status with extensive experience with pupils with SEMH needs

- A specialism in working with pupils with SEMH

- Desirably Team-Teach trained
