SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Plymouth
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are currently recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work full time in schools across Plymouth, supporting children with additional needs.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role suited to someone confident working with pupils who require consistent, patient, and structured support.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis

  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to support learning and behaviour

  • Assisting pupils with engagement, emotional regulation, and classroom routines

  • Implementing strategies from EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour plans

  • Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom where required

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • Confident supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs

  • Must be able to drive

  • Business-use car insurance required (or willingness to obtain it)

  • Reliable, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
