SEN Teaching Assistant – Outreach Provision
Supporting Pupils Outside Mainstream Education

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Outreach SEN provision, supporting children who are not currently able to access mainstream education.

This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same, working with pupils in alternative settings and providing tailored interventions to help re-engage them with learning.

Role Overview:

  • Supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs

  • Delivering and supporting targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small-group basis

  • Helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with education

  • Working in a variety of outreach locations rather than one fixed classroom

  • Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (essential)

  • SEN or outreach experience highly desirable

  • Must be able to drive

  • Business-use car insurance required (or willingness to obtain it)

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Confident working independently and adapting to changing environments

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30am – 3:50pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
