Supply Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
Contract Type: Supply / Temporary basis
Start Date: Ongoing opportunities available
Job Description:
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Plymouth on a flexible, supply basis. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about helping young people thrive in their education, and for those who want to gain hands-on classroom experience.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and other school staff to support students' learning, promote positive behaviour, and help create a nurturing and productive environment. You may also provide one-to-one or small group support for students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students in and out of the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
-
Assisting with the delivery of learning activities and resources
-
Providing individual or group support to students who need additional help
-
Helping manage classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe, positive learning environment
-
Supporting pupils with SEN (Special Educational Needs), where appropriate
-
Encouraging student engagement and participation
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills
-
A caring, patient, and flexible approach to support learning and behaviour
-
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with school staff
-
A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
