A specialist SEMH primary school in Salisbury is seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
The school caters for pupils aged 5–11 who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or mental health challenges. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a nurturing, structured environment and is committed to making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in 1:1 and small group settings
-
Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
-
Helping pupils regulate behaviour and develop social skills
-
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
-
Promoting a calm and supportive classroom atmosphere
Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (desirable)
-
Calm, consistent, and confident in managing behaviour
-
A team player with strong communication skills
-
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
