SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?

A specialist school in Salisbury is looking for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2025.

This full-time role involves working across both primary and secondary phases with students aged 2 to 18 who have a variety of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH challenges.

 

About the Role:

  • Provide consistent emotional and academic support for students with SEMH and SEN

  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and structured learning environment

  • Assist in delivering tailored educational activities and behaviour support strategies

  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and resilience

  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement EHCPs and support plans

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
