SEMH teaching assistant in Leicester;

There is currently an open position requiring an immediate start for a SEMH teaching assistant or SEN teaching assistant in a popular school in the Leicester area. The job role will include offering 1:1 support for young children with SEMH and SEN needs as well as providing classroom support for children with behaviour issues.

  • Teaching assistant position for children with SEMH needs
  • Weekly pay between £55-£65 a day depending on experience and responsibilities
  • Well established school in Leicester area, rated good by Ofsted
  • 1:1 working basis with SEMH pupils

Successful candidates will have experience working with children with a range of SEMH and SEN needs including dyslexia or dyscalculia, autism, severe epilepsy, moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties, visual or hearing impairments, mobility problems, behavioural challenges or psychiatric problems.

Job highlights as a SEMH teaching assistant in Leicester;

- Helping young students overcome their behavioural issues through 1:1 support

- Liaising with Heads of Faculty and SENCO about progress being made

- Assisting in raising levels of focussed learning in lessons

- Monitoring and tracking behaviour of SEMH pupils
