SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN School
Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
A vibrant and inclusive primary SEN school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their committed team from September 2025.
About the Role:
You will be working full-time (8.30am – 3pm) with pupils aged 5 to 11 who may face behavioural and emotional challenges.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is resilient, empathetic, and ready to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

Assist with the development of tailored learning strategies

Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Create a calm, supportive, and engaging environment for learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
