SEMH Teacher

We currently looking for a Full Qualified Teacher to assist in a school for pupils aged 7-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a full time position beginning after October half term.

In your role as an SEMH Teacher you would be responsible for creating lessons to meet the student’s needs. This would include a curriculum based around academic and social progression. You would create lessons aimed to allow the young people to express themselves in a practical and easy way, as well as design tasks to help the young people succeed in their lives beyond the school with a key focus on independent living skills.

As a successful SEMH Teacher at this school you must have:

• Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
• Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
• QTS / QTLS or relevant experience
• Experience teaching across subjects including; Maths, English and Food tech

Typically students will present with behaviour that challenges, some will have associated learning difficulties and almost all children will have encountered negative educational experiences or disruption, and consequently lack confidence in their own abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
