SEMH Support Assistant (FY3)
Key role information:
- Start date: June 2023
- Full time position- Mon to Fri.
- Competitive rate of pay: £11.85- £12.50.
- No specific qualifications required.
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour is essential.
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Primary School in the Fylde coast area (FY3) that are seeking a support assistant to join their KS1 team. The successful applicant will be working 1-2-1 with a child within one of their Year 2 classes, supporting the child’s emotional wellbeing as well as their social and academic development. The role will run until the end of the academic year, however there is the potential to be placed onto a permanent contract based on the schools needs.
The school leads aim is to provide an enthusiastic and encouraging environment to engage students into learning. It is important the students feel safe and secure; therefore, all safeguarding must be strictly adhered to. Communication and positive relationships are high on their list of priorities to promote close working relationships with their children’s families.
Expectations:
- Maintain a positive and nurturing attitude.
- Participate in various activities both inside and outside of the classroom i.e trips.
- Have an adaptable approach to your work.
- Be comfortable supporting children both 1:1 and in a small group.
- Have prior experience supporting children with SEMH.
- Lead interventions to meet the pupils’ pastoral and social needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
