Job Title: SEMH Secondary PE Teacher
Location: Salford area
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a passionate PE Teacher with experience supporting students with SEMH needs?
We are seeking a confident and committed Secondary PE Teacher to join one of our specialist SEMH provisions from January. This is a full-time role working with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support due to challenging behaviour and struggles with their mental health and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
  • Participate in school meetings, CPD and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with SEMH students in a secondary setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a resilient, empathetic approach.
  • Full UK driving (Do not need direct access to a car)
  • Ability to commit to a full-time role from January.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
