Job description

SEMH Mentor – Support, Guide, and Rebuild Confidence

Do you want to make a lasting difference to young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We’re seeking an SEMH Mentor to support pupils in building resilience and re-engaging with education.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support reintegration into school, helping pupils settle back into routines
  • Build confidence, resilience, and positive coping strategies
  • Work alongside schools, families, and professionals for joined-up support

What we’re looking for:

  • Substantial experience supporting children with SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of the school curriculum (desirable for learning support)
  • Ability to deliver tuition (desirable but not essential)
  • Child-Only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
  • 10 year career history, with references covering the most recent 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
