SEMH Maths Teacher

I am currently looking for a Maths Teacher to work with students, within an Alternative Provision, based in Horsham.

The School

The school is a maintained community special school for Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 students who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Need (SSEN). In most cases the primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties. Though the majority of students have additional special educational needs such as autistic spectrum condition, AD(H)D, speech, language and communication difficulties.

The Role

A full time Maths Teacher to start in September, who is able to teach low level Key Stage 3 Maths as a minimum. The school have confirmed that you will be working with young people aged 10-16. A lot of planning for the start of the academic year should have already been completed for you.

The Candidate

You must be:

- a Fully Qualified Teacher

- a Maths specialist

- resilient to challenging behaviour

- available to start in September

Preferable/not essential:

- Team Teach trained

- experience working within an SEMH Provision
