SEMH Behaviour Coach – Milton Keynes

Location: Milton Keynes
Position: SEMH Behaviour Coach
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Pay: Competitive (based on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour in a school or alternative provision setting?

Our client, a large and inclusive academy based in Milton Keynes, is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Coach to join their pastoral support team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young people who require additional support to thrive in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Work closely with the school’s pastoral and SEN team to implement effective behaviour strategies

  • De-escalate situations and provide a calm, consistent approach to behaviour management

  • Help students develop emotional regulation, resilience and coping strategies

  • Support classroom engagement and re-integration into mainstream lessons where appropriate

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with students and staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or within a PRU/alternative provision

  • Is confident in managing behaviour and providing targeted interventions

  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is resilient, patient, and passionate about improving student outcomes

  • Has relevant training in behaviour management, trauma-informed practice, or similar (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
