Secondary Teaching Assistant job, Plymouth

Teaching Personnel are recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a SEN school in Plymouth. The role is to start in May 2019 and will be long term until the end of the academic year with the potential of going into September 2019. It is to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with secondary aged children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only.

Our school caters for secondary aged pupils with social and emotional difficulties and who are not in mainstream education. Most of the children have severe depression and anxiety so experience in supporting pupils with mental health difficulties.

The ideal candidate:

• Must have experience of working with pupils with SEMH difficulties or other SEND experience.
• Must have a NVQ Level 3 qualification in a child related subject or Health and Social Care.
• Has supported or written EHCPs or other support plans.
• Will be able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other multi-agency partners.
• Will have experience working with pupils who are secondary aged.
