Secondary Teaching Assisstant - SEMH - Darlington

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a SEMH secondary school in Darlington, looking to recruit a passionate, full time teaching assistant to work with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. This role demands a dedicated individual who wants to make a real difference. The successful candidate will commence in September 2019.

As a SEMH teaching assistant, you will be supporting the learning and development of students in Key Stages 3 and 4, alongside a teacher. You will be working with young people, who at times struggle engaging with learning and the classroom so will need the extra support of the teaching assistant to help them fulfil their potential, often working on a 1:1 basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience with working with children who experience difficulty with:

• Disruptive and uncooperative behaviour
• Anxiety
• Withdrawn attitudes
• Frustrated, angry and aggressive tempers
• Truancy

Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of £285-£350 per week.
