Job Title: Secondary SEN Tutor

Salary:

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

• Provide individualised academic support to secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Develop and implement tailored learning plans based on students' specific needs and learning styles
• Assist students in improving their academic performance, confidence, and independence in learning
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure progress and address any concerns
• Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students with SEN
• Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Understanding of SEN policies and practises

Education:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience working as a tutor or teacher in a secondary school setting
• Experience in creating and implementing individualised learning plans

Knowledge and Skills:

• Deep understanding of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies
• Ability to assess student needs and progress accurately
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Experience with assistive technology and resources for students with SEN

Working Conditions:

• Part-time hours, flexible schedule
• Work primarily in a classroom or educational setting
• Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student learning and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
