SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Bolton Area)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Bolton. This role involves working with pupils who have complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties and physical disabilities. You will play a key role in supporting students achieve their academic and social goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
  • Assist in delivering tailored lessons and interventions, adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to the teacher and SENCO.
  • Support pupils in developing social and communication skills, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Provide personal care where required, always ensuring dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with complex needs with an educational or care setting (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Valid Right to Work document for the UK.
  • A proactive, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
