Working in partnership with this local secondary school, I have been tasked with finding a suitable Progress and Welfare Coach. The Head teacher at this large secondary is looking for a Progress and Welfare Coach to join the team AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
My partner school based in LS17 is a thriving secondary school, boasting constant success and improvement with every coming academic year. My client is a thriving, all ability, multi-cultural school with 1500 students, aged 11-18. With an increase in Year 7 intake, my client now has waiting lists for every year group. My client combines the benefits of a large school, with its many opportunities to study a wide range of subjects, with a friendly environment which is socially and culturally diverse. Despite the schools size, the expertise of student care ensures that each student is cared for as an individual. All staff work tirelessly to create the environment where our students are safe, secure and happy.
I am looking for a Progress and Welfare Coach who can:
- Support and promote the Positive School Strategy throughout the school
- Collaborate with colleagues in the assessment of students to support the determination of specific needs / requirements of individuals.
- Provide advice to enable students to make choices about their own learning, including information about the opportunities, support mechanisms and organisations available.
- Mentor students as required individually or groups.
- Assist with the implementation of support plans / action plans.
- Support other staff in ensuring that the educational setting of the student effectively meets their needs.
- Support the challenge and motivation of students, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
- Provide feedback to students in relation to behaviour and attendance.
To be best suited for this role you would also need:
- Have Strong academics throughout: GCSE's, A Levels and Degree
- Have had good to outstanding feedback from observations from senior leaders in the school
- Can adapt to new situations quickly & have the ability to think on your feet
- Hold QTS, a DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
