Job Title: Secondary School History Teacher 

Location: Tewksbury
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

WE are committed to fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a school team and ignite a love for history in our students from Year 7 through to their GCSEs in Year 11.

The Role:
As our Secondary History Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to teach the full history curriculum, guiding students from their first encounters with the subject in Year 7 right through to their GCSE examinations in Year 11. You will work with a diverse range of learners, from those who may require additional support to more gifted students, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective history lessons across Years 7 to 11, covering the full curriculum.

  • Differentiate teaching to support both struggling and gifted learners.

  • Plan, prepare, and mark work in line with school policies and GCSE requirements.

  • Inspire students by sharing your passion for history and fostering critical thinking and curiosity.

  • Contribute to the development of the history department and collaborate with colleagues.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A strong passion for history and the ability to convey this enthusiasm to students.

  • Experience teaching secondary history, ideally with GCSE experience.

  • Skilled in differentiating teaching to meet diverse learner needs.

  • Excellent organizational skills, particularly in planning and marking.

  • A commitment to supporting student progress and wellbeing.
