Science Technician Required in a St Helens Catholic School
Teaching Personnel are excited to offer an opportunity to join a Science department within a school in St Helens. The ethos and culture of this school develops both students and staff equally well and creates an enthusiasm for learning. All groups of students make rapid progress during their time in school and standards are well above the national average.
The school was recently graded "good" during an OFSTED inspection and the behaviour of the pupils is fantastic as whole.
The school require a Science Graduate or Technician to start ASAP until Christmas.
Our client school is located in St Helens. The school is accessible by bus or train for Science technicians requiring public transport.
As a Science Technician you will be required to prepare and supply equipment, solutions and materials requested by teachers, making sure to correctly display necessary signs for any hazardous materials. Maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and students is of the upmost importance and due care must be taken at all times. In addition to setting up apparatus before lessons you will be required to wash and clean areas once lessons have ended, repair apparatus when needed, test electrical equipment, undertake regular stock control and support teachers and students in practical lessons.
To be considered for this role you must be / have;
- A passion for Science and aiding student progress
- A degree and A-levels within Science and a strong academic background
- Classroom or tutoring experience with the Science syllabus is an advantage
