Science Technician - Brighton
Are you a Science graduate looking to work as a technician within secondary schools?
Due to a gap in the department, our partner Sixth Form college based in Brighton are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to begin in September 2020, for the whole of the academic year. Initially on a temporary contract as an introduction to the role, there is an opportunity for the successful candidate to stay within the department on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Science graduate to find their first laboratory related role, or for an experienced Science Technician to continue their career at a friendly, rewarding college.
- Full time Science Technician at a Sixth Form College in Brighton
- Initially temporary contract for one academic year
- Opportunity for permanent contract thereafter
- Earn up to GBP1300 per month (dependent on experience)
- Experience not essential but Scientific knowledge required
Our partner College is located in Brighton and is easily accessible by public and personal transport. The College has over 800 pupils and a friendly an supportive atmosphere and department. With good facilities throughout the Science department and the rest of the college, pupils have everything in place to set them up for a successful future.
As a Science Technician at our partner College, responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out risk assessments for practical and technical activities
- Preparing necessary solutions and equipment for practical experiments
- Maintaining, repairing and taking inventory of apparatus
- Liaising with staff over equipment and safety issues
- Running trials of experiments and demonstrations
- Supporting the overall work of the Science Department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
