One of our lovely schools which is closely located to Marsh Mills needs an experienced Science Technician to support the Senior Technician. This role is to start immediately on a full time basis until the end of the academic year.

Job description

  • supporting the preparation of apparatus, materials and solutions, and setting up equipment and apparatus for use in all areas of Science
  • reporting to the Senior Technician, for the provision of technical services in the department as directed
  • cleaning and routine care of apparatus and equipment to ensure a high standard of safety and hygiene
  • participation in the organisation and storage of equipment, apparatus and materials, including chemicals, for all Sciences
  • participation in the stock checking and replenishment of laboratories as advised by Teaching and Technical staff
  • participation in the preparation, setting up and removal of equipment for practical examinations and in the provision of a technical service during practical examinations
  • participation in the general upkeep of the laboratories and in general laboratories tidiness, safety and compliance with COSHH regulations, and security
  • participation in the provision of audio-visual and course materials for Science lessons which will include photocopying and filing of resources
  • interaction with staff and pupils to help deliver the Science curriculum
