Science Graduate - Science Teaching Assistant

Due to a change in their support department, our client school in Rochdale are looking to appoint a Science graduate to facilitate learning of their students in Science, and would like the successful applicant to join them in September as a Science teaching assistant.

- Modern secondary school which has excellent facilities for SEN pupils

- Good transport links - short walk from local tram stop, bus routes from Rochdale town centre

- Earn up to £325 per week (weekly pay in arrears)

- Gain invaluable experience working in a secondary setting prior to teacher training


In this position as a Science teaching assistant, the successful Science graduate will work 1:1 and in small groups to support the progression and development of students in Science, as well as supporting the delivery of Science lessons by teaching staff. The incoming Science teaching assistant will need to be comfortable working with a range of ages and abilities, including those who are behind their target grades and the highest achieving students in need of stretching to go beyond their targets. There will also be the opportunity for the Science teaching assistant to hold responsibility for the learning of small groups of students in certain areas, including leading revision and booster sessions.

The school regular achieves in line with the national average, and exceeds other schools in the LEA. In terms of locality, the school can be easily accessed due to a number of strong transport links including a 15 minute walk from Rochdale train station.
