We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational classroom practitioner to join our excellent and supportive Science Faculty. We wish to appoint one or more individuals who are, or have the potential and desire to be, an outstanding classroom practitioner able to develop a passion for Science within our students.
Applications are invited from ITTs, NQTs as well as more experienced colleagues. We have an excellent record developing Science teachers through ITT, NQT and beyond and would genuinely consider candidates who would like to move into teaching Science from other subjects.
We have a good take up of Biology, Chemistry & Physics at KS5 running 5 classes (2 Biology, 2 Chemistry & 1 Physics) in Y12 & Y13. 2017-18 provided strong results with student progress outperforming national average. We are looking to increase the KS5 Science take-up, as well as continuing to improving performance so our students make progress in line with the top 25% of schools.
Many of the Science labs were refurbished in 2016 so we can boast excellent teaching facilities. The faculty is well resourced with practical equipment and ably supported by a team of four technicians.
Results have improved significantly & last years interim Ofsted inspection went well. The faculty has developed a strong morale and supportive culture through this process that has surprised many.
The school also runs an on-site nursery, swimming pool & gym as commercial enterprises that are offered to staff at preferential rates.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
