Fully Qualified Core Subjects Tutor - Wigan (WN1)

TP-Tutors are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fully Qualified Core Subjects Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils in the Wigan (WN1) area.

This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people in English, Maths, and Science, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their educational goals. Many pupils have Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH needs, or have experienced disruption to their education, so experience supporting vulnerable learners is essential.

The Role:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in English, Maths, and Science
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and targets
  • Support pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Identify gaps in learning and provide targeted intervention
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and progress
  • Complete session reports and monitor student achievement
  • Tuition sessions will take place on weekdays during school hours

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects at primary or secondary level
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible and student-focused approach to learning
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
