Science Teacher - Salford

Full time Science Teacher required for a 'Good' secondary academy in Salford.

Teaching Personnel are working closely with one of our partner secondary schools in Salford, who are seeking to appoint an inspirational Science Teacher from January 2020 on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a large, successful academy who are continuing to expand and grow.

  • Full time Teacher of Science required from January 2020
  • Fixed term contract for the duration of 2 full terms (until July)
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract thereafter
  • Teaching all three disciplines of Science up to KS3
  • Teach within specialism at KS4 level
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (£23,720-£39,406)

Our partner secondary school is a smaller than average academy located in the Salford Quays area of Salford, situated ideally next to a local Metrolink stop. After recently appointing a new Principal, the academy is continuing on their journey to become 'Outstanding' as they continue to grow their intake of new students. The school have a positive Progress 8 score which is in line with the national average, and shows that the 800+ students enrolled make good progress.

"We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Science to join our hard working department from January 2020, due to an upcoming change in the staffing structure. Science is a popular and successful subject at our academy, with the Triple Science course proving extremely popular for students. We are extremely passionate about Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and we offer an excellent programme for those teachers new to the profession, and so we look forward to hearing from any Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)." Headteacher.

As a Science Teacher at our partner secondary school, the successful candidate will undertake full responsibilities of planning and marking and will be expected to plan and deliver highly engaging lessons of all three aspects of KS3 Science. Whist teaching the GCSE course, the incoming Teacher of Science will have the opportunity to teach within their specialism.

If you would like to apply for this post as a Science Teacher, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
